Meet me

Rachel Jefford

Hi, my name is Rachel and I am a qualified medical professional.  I am a registered Paramedic with over 25 years experience working in healthcare, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) - a statutory governing body which regulates Paramedic practice. I am also a non-medical prescriber.

Experience

I have had varied roles within the NHS.  I started my career as an emergency Paramedic responding to 999 calls in 1995.  I went on to work in the Emergency Department at Broomfield Hospital, Essex (amongst other places), where I developed an interest in Trauma and Orthopaedics and Plastic Surgery.

I honed my minor surgery skills with suturing & wound care, making sure patients were left with minimal scarring, this is probably where my passion for skin first started.

Latterly I have been working in General Practice in Clacton and now Colchester, where I am currently clinical lead for dermatology and minor surgery covering four GP practices in the area.  With my training in minor surgery through the Association of Surgeons in Primary Care I run a very popular and busy minor surgery clinic once a month , specialising in cyst removal; skin lesion recognition and  treatment; steroid injections and wedge resections/complete toenail removal for ingrowing toenails (IGTN).

I have trained in aesthetics as I love the science behind it, and love making people feel at their best. Grow old gracefully, this was always my mantra, until I woke up realised I was neary 50, looked 60 and felt 70!  It's amazing how a few little injections here and there can take years off you.

I could not have done any of this without the training and support from my amazing trainer and mentor, Kirsty Dinnage, who runs a very successful salon in my nearby town.  Check out her amazing work here:
